I can start by saying that I have gradually gone from raw and vegan to more of a traditional diet (meaning ancient traditional, not modern “traditional”).

I “believe” in balance, but its really just an idea, a judgement of reality, or a filter over your pure experience. It’s not “real,” well it is because YOU make it up. It’s a feeling I’m always after (that’s all there is) and so feel the feeling you want or let it go. BEING in the present moment will always bring the two sides of the coin, the yin and yang, up and down, around and around again, that will happen, it’s not something you need to or can MAKE happen. Things go up, things come down.
The way you feed a plant is by feeding the soil. The way you feed a plant is by feeding the bacteria in the soil. The way you feed yourself is by feeding your bacteria.
Most of us grew up in an ANTI-biotic culture. Modern “medicine” has waged a war against germs. Germs produce disease is what we have been told. That’s not intelligent or complete. It is a half truth, as any one-sided statement is. The opposite is also true.
In fact, bacteria protect us, guard us, provide for us, nourish us, die for us, live for us and kill for us. And we live and die for bacteria as well. I am living now because bacteria ate my ancestors.
We have lived for as long as anyone can imagine with bacteria. We have lived WITH bacteria, in our bodies, in our “cultures,” in our foods and in our forests and soils.
When we are operating on a wholistic paradigm, and we are presented with something in our lives we can work with it in various ways. The best martial artists, the masters, RE-direct punches and forces. Masters are those who accept whatever comes and goes, whatever is, and moves and dances with it, not against it. Bacteria are here to stay, thank god, and so how can we direct their efforts to support us?
We can use the poisons, the tragedies, the forces of death and decay, to benefit our LIFE! Opposites create each other, death and decomposition create life and energy.
We BURN food and calories for energy and building our tissues. We eat each other, our plant and animal brothers and sisters, and turn them into ourselves. Digesting food is about breaking down one thing so it can be reborn in us in a new way. Rebirth is only made possible through death. The death of our food makes possible for the continuation of our life.
We can break down our food without doing any work. Well ok, a little bit of work.
It’s called FERMENTATION.
It’s called rotting.
It’s called bacteria.
It’s called food that is going bad.
It’s called transformation.
Alchemical bacterial transmutation.
It is bacteria helping us. As allies, friends, protectors, lovers, preservers.
The sustainable option is full-circle. The way is acceptance of what is.
Are you ready to join forces with the nature of the universe?
Are you willing to engage, accept and learn to love life AND death?
If the answer is yes, say hello to the new PRO-biotic culture we are creating.
Local, Heirloom, Organic, Biodynamic. Why Wild?
Wild is natural (from nature). If we actually define natural as being from nature and ultimately found in nature, we only come up with wild, either native or non-native species, living in the wilderness. If we desire the same results that wild organisms have, then we can get them by eating wild organisms.
The wild things are capable of surviving the elements, the seasons, the heat, the cold, and the ecology (the web of life & death). If we desire to survive in Nature, aka the world, then we may learn from the wild things.
As far as plants go, really the wild plants are the herbs . . . that’s why herbs are so medicinal and healthful and STRONG. They are really wild plants, they still have their medicine and poison and strength. They live in the Wild.
What does it mean to really live in the wild. One way I look at it is that each organism has high integrity in itself. Meaning it is strong in its own body and has an ability to resist other organisms; that is what surviving is . . .
When we don’t resist other organisms anymore (or when we stop being strong in ourselves), that is when we become the other organisms and we cease to be this form and we turn into another. This is natural AND we can influence when and how this happens by certain actions that strengthen our organism and our immune system.
Our immune system is what distinguishes what is foreign and domestic, and goes after the foreigners. It’s between US and THEM and we are all one no matter what happens AND it is part of our natural drive to sustain the US part of ourselves. So then that may be why we walk toward WILD . . .
I just harvested some Datura stramonium seed pods, flowers and leaves in the Bay area. This plant is among the most hallucinogenic of the Nightshade family of plants, Solanaceae. It is reportedly a very dark, evil and death filled journey that it brings you on.
Come with me to the land of the dead. ‘Cause that is half of what eating is about. Every bite you take brings you closer to Death. And reminds us of our own death as we take life and give death with every mouthful. This cycle that feeds all beings and universes that is the stage in which unfolds all the beauty and ugliness of the universe, all the time, for ever and ever we go….
